What Is Good Food Online?

Good Food Online is a food, travel and motorhome life website built around a simple idea: some of the best discoveries happen when you slow down, take the scenic route and stay curious.

It is not a traditional recipe site. It is not an influencer blog. It is not a place created to chase clicks, fill pages with adverts or tell people how they should travel.

Instead, Good Food Online is a place to share real experiences from the road — the food we remember, the places we enjoyed, the producers worth finding, the journeys that stayed with us and the practical lessons we learned along the way.

More Than Just Food

Food is a big part of the site, but it is not the whole story.

Sometimes the best part of a journey is a memorable meal in a small local café. Sometimes it is a farm shop you nearly drove past, a market full of regional ingredients, a fishmonger by the harbour or a local producer who clearly cares about what they make.

But sometimes the most useful thing is much simpler: a better way to organise the motorhome kitchen, a trick that reduces washing up, a travel-day meal that actually works or a small piece of kit that makes life easier.

Good Food Online brings all of that together.

Why We Created It

After years of travelling, working in different places and exploring whenever we could, retirement gave us the chance to slow down and travel differently.

HAMISH, our motorhome, became part of that new chapter. It gave us the freedom to take longer journeys, stay in places properly, shop locally, cook simply and discover the kind of stops that often turn into the best memories.

Like most travellers, we have learned plenty through trial and error. Some things worked straight away. Others needed changing. A few things we would do very differently if we were starting again.

That is part of the reason for this site.

We wanted somewhere to record and share the places, food, ideas and practical lessons that have made our own journeys better.

What You Will Find Here

Good Food Online is built around a few main themes.

There will be food road trips, where the journey, scenery, local stops and memorable food all come together.

There will be regional food guides, looking at the dishes, ingredients and specialities that help make a place feel different.

There will be local producers — the bakers, butchers, fishmongers, farm shops, cheesemakers, vineyards, olive oil producers and independent businesses that are worth finding.

There will be meals from the road, with simple food ideas inspired by markets, farm shops, local ingredients and motorhome life.

And there will be lessons from the road, where we share the practical tips, tricks and small changes that have made travelling easier and more enjoyable.

What You Will Not Find Here

You will not find endless recipe collections.

You will not find intrusive adverts, pop-ups or sponsored clutter.

You will not find us pretending to be influencers or experts with all the answers.

And you will not find product recommendations unless they are things we genuinely use, like or would happily recommend to another traveller.

Good Food Online is not being built as a business or an income stream. That gives us the freedom to write about what we genuinely think is worth sharing.

Our Simple Rule

Before something goes on Good Food Online, we ask a simple question:

Would we happily tell another couple about this over a cup of tea on a campsite?

If the answer is yes, it probably belongs here.

If the answer is no, it probably does not.

That might mean a great lunch stop, a scenic road, a food market, a useful bit of motorhome kit, a simple meal idea or a lesson learned the hard way.

Good Food Online is about all of those things.

Real food. Real places. Worth the journey.
